Shona Kebble, a photographer from the Howick Photographic Society, recently was recently amongst the medals in a prestigious NZ landscape competition that included many international entries.
She won a silver medal in the Laurie Thomas Landscape Salon, 2020, one of the most anticipated events in New Zealand’s photographic calendar. Since its humble beginnings 24 years ago, this salon now attracts up to 700 entries from amateur and professional photographers alike.
Shona joined the Howick Photographic Society in Auckland in 2003 wanting to learn how to make better photographs.
Since then, she has won a variety of awards in a wide variety of genres including photojournalism, portraiture, natural history and landscapes.
Her most notable awards include gold, silver and bronze medals at the PSNZ National Exhibition over the years, several supreme awards at the Royal Easter Show, PSNZ Award in the PSNZ International Salon, gold and bronze medals in the New Brighton Photojournalism Competition, awards in the North Shore Salon and the Nelson Triptych Salon, silver in the Jack Sprosen Audio Visual Competition and high placings the Tauranga Audio Visual Salon.
“As an active member of the club, she is an inspiration and mentor to all the members,” said a club spokesperson.
